Oh. My. God. This will quickly become one of our favorite places in the neighborhood. The staff was incredibly friendly and greeted us right away. The food, let me tell you, was exceptional.
I had the cheddar egg biscuit and it simply started my day off perfectly. There isn't a lot to it and it isn't served with anything on the side but it is the simplicity that allows you to enjoy it.
The bakery case was filled with an eye-popping selection of goodies. I can't wait to get back there and try as many things as possible. This is going to be very dangerous. -

At one point, I would have recommended this as one of the best spots in Sellwood. After today, I'm not sure I'll be returning.
The staff considerably overcharged us, by ringing up the wrong items. The kitchen staff recognized this, and implied that they would inform the fellow at the register. However, after waiting for quite some time, the staff seemed to avoid eye contact and completely blew us off.
A customer should not have to haggle with a staff about this sort of oversight. It made me want to hurry to eat and leave, and put a damper on celebrating an anniversary with my wife. It was awkward, a bit insulting, and a huge turn off. The staff's lack of politeness is a bit much.
The fact that they made us the wrong food, and charged us for it, had us waiting for some time to eat. That's fine, of course. But when no apology is made, no rectifying the situation, nothing - It makes the lovely environment and food not so desirable. It's unfortunate, as we have loved visiting here. But this was to a degree of rudeness that I don't think I will be supporting in the future. -

We had stopped here for a snack and the place was already crowded, but we managed to get a table outside. We picked the Classic Chocolate Croissant ($3.95) and the Bread Pudding ($3.35) to share. Both were yummy!
I always love a good chocolate croissant, and its large size is a plus. But the bread pudding muffin was more unique, "like French toast in a muffin cup!" The top was indeed crunchy while the inside was still moist and flavorful. -

Really nice people , yet the wait can be long even when not busy. I paid almost ten dollars for this sandwich. Ouch!!!

Grand central bakery; we came in as we were walking outside because the smell of this place was amazing. The cookies, treats, and bread smelled and looked delicious. We had an late lunch and we decided we had to eat something at this place
I ordered the seasonal special; Korean pork belly sandwich, was surprised how big it was and how delicious it was. Being a Korean food expert (JK) I knew what the flavor was about, this sandwich delivered. It had a good spice but strong flavor to its pork and the kimchi / cole slaw that was mixed in was delish! Also they threw in a pickle, one of the sandwich ones, just the right amount of tang with the Korean pork.
We didn't end up trying the treats but when we come back and we def will, we're getting some of their desserts. Thanks to this place, makes Portland even more special! Give this spot a try, come hungry and ready to eat!
